Manuel Ugarte’s involvement “set to intensify this week” with Erik ten Hag “under pressure” to integrate him – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly under pressure to integrate Manuel Ugarte after the club forked out a huge sum to secure his services in the summer.

United officially unveiled Ugarte on transfer deadline day. He joined the Red Devils from Paris Saint-Germain, where he fell out of favour under Luis Enrique.

However, Ugarte has had a far-from-perfect start to life in England. He was brought in as a replacement for Casemiro to solve United’s woes in the middle of the park but he has so far been unable to do so.

He has made five appearances across all competitions, starting on just three occasions vs. Twente, Barnsley and Tottenham Hotspur.

Ugarte was an unused substitute for United’s last two matches against FC Porto in the Europa League and Aston Villa just before the ongoing international break.

The Uruguayan has not looked convincing and a recent report covered by The Peoples Person claimed that he is already regretting his decision to sign for Ten Hag’s side. It was further stated that his exit in the near future can’t be entirely ruled out.

However, according to GIVEMESPORT, Ugarte is poised to receive some respite once club football returns, with Ten Hag under pressure to hand him more minutes.

“Manchester United star Manuel Ugarte could be about to have a bigger role in the coming weeks at Old Trafford despite Erik ten Hag fighting for his position in the dugout at Old Trafford – as GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed that one of the Dutchman’s priorities is to fully integrate the midfielder into the first-team picture.”

“GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed that Ten Hag’s focus on properly integrating Ugarte is set to intensify this week, given that the Uruguayan has been only a bit-part player so far in his Red Devils career.”

“However, sources state that Ten Hag has stood by his view that Ugarte would need time to settle at Old Trafford, and that he wasn’t brought to the club to make an instant impact.”

“The former Sporting star has no fitness issues, and Ten Hag is beginning to come under increased pressure to utilise him more after paying £42million for his services late in the summer transfer window.”

Ugarte played all 90 minutes for Uruguay on Friday night as they slipped to a 1-0 loss at the hands of Peru.

The United n.o 25 started as part of a back-three in a largely unfamiliar centre-back role, alongside fellow countrymen Santiago Bueno and Guillermo Varela.

Ugarte is likely to start once again in the early hours of Wednesday morning when Uruguay meet Ecuador in yet another World Cup qualifier.
